Spring forward!

Whoah, what seniors have said is true--Spring semester is a LOT more intense than Fall! Since school started I've always been involved in something or other. In Jan it was helping the Asian Students' Assoc with their Lunar New Year performance (which was AWESOME and much loved by the audience). Then these few weeks I've just been applying for all sorts of positions and jobs, and will continue to do so. Have had a spate of setbacks, namely not getting into the Round Table (which is bascially a bunch of cool people living in the same dorm), not getting into the SG Students' Assoc's Comm and, most crushing setback of all, not getting the RA job I was quite set upon.

Nonetheless, there are just so many things at Duke that I can easily fill up my time, so no worries. Among other things, am thinking about being a First-Year Advisor, either that or an IHOP, which is similiar to a FAC but for helping international first-year students only. Am also stepping up involvement with my Chrisitan Fellowship, helping with the worship team. All this while remaining with my a cappella group, and helping to edit Duke's literary 'zine.

Am still scrambling to secure a roommate in the wake of my RA rejection, but I trust to God that all will work out fine if I just do my bit. (UPDATE: roommate situation is being worked out now, things look excellent! From being roommate-less I'm suddenly now helping those still without roommates. Wow!)

One bright spot though: academics are really excellent so far, despite the difficulty. Probably because I don't have that tough Philo class from Fall anymore, and because the A levels really did cover some basic uni-level stuff, giving me a (very slim) headstart over the rest that I'm struggling to maintain.

So, perhaps you don’t have to hit every target you aim for, just enough of the ones that count. And wherever i may fall short, I trust to God to make up the difference Himself.
