Friendships takes months if not years to forge. I made a huge mistake not really paying attention to cultivating friends before, but have been fortunate enough to be blessed by some anyway. Am still trying to make more, not easy with my Introversion + Social Retarded-ness (no the two are not the same, there’re some pretty charismatic Introverts around in case you don’t notice)

And since we’re on that issue, thank you very much Father Lord for my utter social retarded-ness. It’s been a pain of course, since I tend to get left in the dust during social gatherings/whatevers. But it does have occasional perks, e.g. when it makes you appear earnest, in a strange kind of way. And through Him the greatest weaknesses become the greatest strengths. The poor are rich because they have nothing but God, while the rich are poor because they have everything but God.

Semi-relatedly, I wonder what it’s like to be autistic. I wonder if it’s a curse—or a blessing. Isn’t autism just extreme introversion? Then what’s extreme extroversion? (“insecurity”—says Cynical David. Mature David stays silent.)
