TGIF

ergh. You know what I'm going to say. Why do I look so terribly forward to the weekends now? I guess mainly cos in school there was interesting stuff going on all week long, so weekends were only slightly better than weekdays (and then only because I didn't have to wake up so early). The thing I hate most about NS (I'll gladly tell this to any ranking officer if I could) is the lack of progression. There is no goal you're working towards, you're doing the same thing day in day out, with few changes. In school, you'd be progressing, moving on from one chapter to another, or from easy to advanced. And the CCAs would be gearing up for some event or competition. Always a sense of movement, direction. Which is why I try to do/learn stuff in my free time, outside NS, to provide some progression, else I would go mad. Dunno, maybe other NS jobs (engineers, technician, mechanic) do learn some skills, but that's only in the training and initial period. Crikey, is the working world like this? If so I'm so going to die.

Notice a pattern forming in my blog:

Weekday entries are reflections rather than real diary entries (nothing much worth talking about, unless I've read something really interesting)

Weekend entries curiously absent (out of the house)

Monday or tuesday entries: recount the marvelous weekend events.
