Self-indulgent newsflash here, but I've found out from Duke's scholarship office that there are NO Singaporean students shortlisted (let alone actually selected) for this year's AB Duke Scholarship. None. Nadda. Zilch. Null.
Man, what a door-slam. Singapore drops from three to zero Duke scholars in a year. Ah well, I dorealise only 15 students get it a year, so last year's haul for SG could be a bit of a fluke, but still, Singapore is...well, Singapore, you know? One of the places where being a student can be a PROFESSION in its own right.
Sigh. Ok, will now let the impact of the news wear off after a good night's sleep.
