Gargh. Sorry haven’t been blogging. Busybusybusy. Still, I feel it is my duty to put up updates at least once a week, or it defeats the basic purpose of this blog, vis, to keep in touch with friends, esp those no longer resident in this small dreamless isle.

So, updates:

Last supper with Keshav & Shan (Thurs 4 Sep). Ate at Soup Spoon (Raffles City). T’was amusing cos Shan kept insisting on treating Keshav cos he’s leaving the next day, while Keshave kept wanting to treat us cos, in his words “I gotta use up all these Singapore dollars by tonight!” Had good good garlic bread equivalent and good thick clam chowder, a good turkey sandwich and an apple (healthy lifestyle here I come). Also had good good good conversation with Keshav about Singapore’s system, civil society, politics and political prisoner—the whole Singapore “we are not yet free” Josef Ng/Alfian Sa’at mish-mash. Talking to an outsider about national issues is so interesting, for the new perspectives they can offer. Like the fact that gerrymandering isn’t just restricted to SG (yes they do it too in the Land of the Free—but you’d have guessed that already just by looking at who’s Mr President)

AFUA General Meeting (Sunday 14 Sep). Details classified. Suffice to say recent & upcoming projects were discussed.

Church Sec 4 Study Camp (12-14 Sep): was jaga-ing the sec4 study camp this weekend. Not that a lot of studying was done. =p Mostly sat around reading & writing my own stuff while the sec 4s argued over cotangents, Marianne Cheong (the good ol’ geog bible) and whatnot. Had to make them sleep at 1, or 1:30am latest or they would be really sleepy next day and be in no fit state to mug more. We had dinner at Saab’s place on Sat night which was good if very time-consuming (took 2+ hours all told, going there and back to church). Felt pretty sleepy at Sunday sch as a result. Oh and we all prayed for Yaozhang and Jess who are leaving for US on Tues and Sun respectively.

Oh, and in case I forget, happy birthday LKY. I’m sure Singapore is everything you hoped it would be. And then some.
