30 Aug:
Massive backlog of backblogs
Okay, okay. Here’s what I’ve been doing

On 22nd Aug, met Philip (just flew in from Duke) and Shan to assist Philip in his Singapore Race/Education project.

On 23rd Aug (Saturday), saw off Shun Loong and Lish at Changi at 3pm and 9.45pm respectively. Saw the RV bunch there too: Binx, Zher Ee, Mingze, Juncai. Had early dinner with them at Swensen’s after seeing CSL off.

Stayed in Changi after that, trying to doze off in hard plastic seats till 9.30 (and lish’s departure) came. Clash of worlds there: the RJ bunch, GEP bunch, church bunch, even CAP bunch (in the form of Grace C. and an on-duty EDB scholar Luke). Saw SM there, so just had to congratulate him (I still think SAFOS is a waste of talent, but I respect his decision, plus it is his life and he’s good, so who’m I to judge? =p). Managed to say bye to lish despite the mini-horde around her. Heh, am not sure if I want that kind of send-off…maybe a quieter one with a smaller horde (“small horde”? oxymoron here).

Talked to Melvin and Charm on way back. Insignificant except for its significance.

20+ Aug: Went out with Philip, Keshav (the two doing the SG race project), Shan and Shan’s sister’s friend Supei (sp?)

Have two (overdue) articles due: Cloning or Clowning (some bio-ethics article) for Church publication and the months-old Maids/Foreign Domestic Workers article for VJC GloPos. Have yet to visit VJ and arranged the race project thingy for Keshav and Philip.

I BLOODY MISSED THE SINGAPORE WRITERS’ FEST! Am majorly sore with myself. But this year’s programme was really water-down so guess I didn’t miss much.

And Shiming’s flying off tonight. Enjoy yourself in the US of A! (wish I were going too, but have been ranting on about this topic so will not harp on it now)

(Repeat announcement): For all you flying off whom I’ll not be able to see off at Changi, have fun and come back with Interesting Tales From Far-Away Lands! Feel free to make me murderously envious, if am not already so by the time you return for Thanksgiving/Christmas/Winter hols.
