Ramblings in lieu of coherent thoughts

There are friends, and then there is community. To expect one to be the other is perhaps too much to hope for.

Is there no hope for our nation? It's no skin off my nose if we fail--I'd easily settle down elsewhere in the world--but there are those who have not that option.
